Performance: De FACE by Solène Wachter

3:10 pm (15 min)

Retourner sa veste: literally “turncoat” – change sides or opinions out of interest and not on moral principles. That term became the genesis of this project. De FACE is a performance built around duality, identity and addressing the public. The audience is seated on two opposing bleachers, each witnessing what the other cannot see. For Orléans, the performance has been reworked. How can we reinvest this principle of heads or tails with a 360-degree audience?

Solène Wachter began classical dance at the Toulouse Conservatory, then at the Paris Conservatory, where she graduated in 2016. She created the company Stimulus. With their first creation, “Divers-gens”, they performed at MC2 in Orléans, Regard du Cygne in Paris, Théâtre Les Salorges in Noirmoutier, and Théâtre de Papeete in Tahiti. She continued her studies at PARTS in Brussels. She presented her solo “De face” for the first time in 2017. She participated in the premieres of “10000 gestes” and “infini” by Boris Charmatz, with whom she also collaborates on pieces for children, as well as performing in “danse de nuit”. She is involved in Ashley Chen’s project “Distances”, currently being created.
