Pol Pi in collaboration with the musicians of Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop

© Maïwenn Rebours

For this new creation, which will premiere in 2022, Pol Pi has invited four musicians from the Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop of Berlin to embody Dmitri Shostakovich’s Quartet No. 8 with gestures, words and music. An instrumentalist himself before becoming a dancer, Pol will draw on Shostakovich’s score to experiment with corporal translations of the musical vocabulary. Anna Faber (violin), Mia Bodet (violin), Yodfat Miron (viola) and Sophie Notte (cello) will embody the different movements of this quartet, composed in remembrance of the victims of fascism and war.
