Collection Dançer is a publishing project initiated by artists from the fields of dance, visual arts and the book world who wanted to create a collection about dance, aimed at children and others curious about dance. These creative, playful and poetic volumes are supplemented with a variety of events: on-site performances, workshops for children, parents, teachers…
The original drawings and prints presented during the exhibition give children (as well as older readers) the possibility to “feel dance”, to “pre-dance” through the imagination by exploring links between images, texts, ideas, and graphic layout, such as the corporal games included at the end of the book, and by adding knowledge on the world of dance.

A partnership of the CCNO and the Médiathèque d’Orléans.

In connection with the publication of the new book Signalétique orchestique – Ou parcours à danser, this performance is a playful experience transforming some of the pages of the book into real life-size space. Regardless of location, the idea is to create, here or there, like this or like that, a dancing passage transporting shifting images by way of the body, two bodies navigating to the tune of drawings and actions. A way to open the book without opening it!

From 6 years of age
Participation free, registration necessary

Mary Chebbah
Working in the field of performing arts since 1987 (from the stage to the backstage, through various collaborations and artistic contexts – from the Compagnie Maguy Marin through ramdam to Lieues), since 2005 Mary also produces philo-graphic objects as video and/or published works (rodeo-revue, incise-revue…). In parallel, she has worked since 2017 with Collection Dançer (published by Quadrille editions), updating in a multi-year process a collection of books about dance for children and others curious about dance. A creative work of passing on sensitivity and sensory experience that she also cultivates in the real world, at “Lieues” for children, and in other contexts for students and other audiences.

Jeanne Vallauri
A dancer from a very young age, Jeanne studied contemporary dance with Josette Baïz. Also stimulated by the graphic arts, including photography, she studied for three years at the Beaux Arts de Marseille. She performed for several choreographers including M. Kéléménis, G. Appaix, and Ex-Nihilo, before working with Maguy Marin for more than 10 years. She is currently creating and touring with Phia Ménard, Jordi Gali and the Théâtre Dromesko and co-signs pieces with Bérengère Valour. In parallel, she conducts various educational and awareness-raising activities for different audiences, and jointly manages Lieues (a non-disciplinary space for artistic activities in Lyon). She has been involved in the dançer collection since 2017, designing and writing the book Signalétique Orchestique with Mary Chebbah.
