Locking is a social dance that takes root on the West Coast of the United States in the 70s. It's also a way of asserting identity through play, flamboyance, funk and sharing. For 2h, Sandra and Willow will introduce you to the fundamentals of Locking, taking you on a journey through archive footage and the transmission of the basic figures of this movement, before joyfully evolving into a semi-directed, festive soul train workshop. The workshop will be accompanied by a DJ, who will immerse us in the musical and dance mood of the 70s.

Sandra Sainte Rose Fanchine
began streetdancing in the underground in 1998, specializing in funkstyle dances and Afro-Caribbean dance techniques. She has worked with the following companies: Difé Kako, Co. Traces/Raphaelle Delaunay, La Horde, Impure company/hooman Sharifi, Co. De soi/Radhouane El Meddeb, Co. La part du pauvre, Tino Seghal, Co. Auguste Bienvenue... In 2011, she began exploring a choreographic style in which the performativity of hip-hop dance and the sensitive are combined with song and elements of history and politics.
